Block Booking for Arts Presenters only, please! PAE 2009
PRESENTERS ONLY!
As a presenter in Troy, Alabama, I'm interested in bringing quality experiences to our audiences while saving every penny. We're a non-profit, but are currently organized as a fiscal agent of our city and we're concerned about funding in a climate of cuts and pro-ration. Rosemary encouraged me to share this, so if any other presenters are out there, we'd love to save you some money. And I'd love to work with you to save us all some money.
Current season- seeking bookings for
January -
The Rose Ensemble - still seeking bookings in area. A cappella and period instruments, they sing in 25 languages and have a variety of programs available for any tastes.
Next season - seeking bookings for:
August - September -
U.O. Project (Jazz) http://usojazzy.com/ I'm getting 4 in-school concerts and 1 public performance for a VERY reasonable fee. This is a world-class group, but it's new.
Probably Late September.
Nexus Percussion Ensemble - the #1 percussion ensemble in the world, from Canada.
Artists on radar for 2010-2011: (I need to pick about 8, if you're interested in any, that helps me choose!)
Tartan Terrors - (dance, Celtic-ish)

Cab Calloway tribute by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Ensemble Galillei (multimedia w/ narration)
Christopher OReilly (piano)
Garrison Keillor, solo (I'm dreaming)
Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens (*this singer mixes soul w/ gospel and is huge in NYC, but unknown in the South). She is from Midway, Alabama and her "gospel queens" are from Tuskegee.)
Heywood Banks (comedy)
Ben Prestage (blues)
Voco w/ Moire Smiley

THE Texas Tenors (I have an asking price quote of $7500 taken prior to their winning in quarterfinals, so I think we can work that down w/ additional dates).
